What is this project all about?

AT HOME IN ICELAND
Have holiday in Iceland - yes! But to live there?
Iceland is magic, the nature is attractive, the people are creative. This is why so many people love the island. Myself I lived for a while in Iceland too. At this time I met many confident, cleverly, strong German women. In my photobook I portray some of these women in their homes. I´ll follow the magic of Iceland as home for these women.

Why portraits of these German women?
Because they are inspiring examples to live dreams!
I know at first it´s a really personal point of view - as me as a German woman. But I think these portraits, the stories of searching and finding the place to live, live into the nature, live our dreams - are for many people important questions of their own life.

What is the project goal and who is the project for?

FOLLOW YOUR HEART
The life plans of these women should fascinate you! The stories should embolden you to be open for other countries, different cultures. For me these German women are inspiring example to live how they want!

Iceland is not the island of bliss! But the people and the landscape in Iceland spent energy of which I´ll give you something with my photographs and portraits of these German women.

The project is for all who get one´s inspiration from the photobook!

Why should you support this project?

ICELAND / ADVENTURE / LIFE

I´ll draw your attention of following: Home is not obligatory the place/country where you are born. Life is adventure! It´s worth it to break new ground, sometimes it´s good to clench one´s teeth.

Who support my project confide the own dreams and longings!

And: Iceland inspired with beautiful landscape you never get enough!

How will we use the money if the project is successfully funded?

The money is for cost of travel and the production. Already I have requested sponsorship for the cost of travel too.
Big part of funding is for design of the book, translation, costs of printing of a small edition of the book and of postcards for the main supporter.
All others can buy the book (in German and English) via print on demand.

Public relation, marketing activities and image editing I bring by myself.
To cap it all I have to pay sales taxes as a freelance - so finally the funding is 6.500 Euro.

What´s happen if the project overfinance?
Then you get more pictures and texts - and a photo exhibition to present the photobook. Also it´s possible to make a App for iPad, also with video footage.

Who are the people behind the project?

I´m Tina Bauer, since years working as freelance text and photo journalist, blogger and recently author - based in Berlin/Germany.
Last few years I spent a lot of time in Iceland - and falling in love of country and people. As a journalist I wrote article and took pictures for magazines like Mercedes-Benz Classic, the Scandinavian magazines Nordis and Norr, and for my own Iceland-blog www.tibauna.de.
I have written my first book: "One year in Iceland. Journay into everyday life" (in German), published at Verlag Herder in 2011.
Some of my Iceland-pictures you can see on www.iceland-photography.de.
