The process involves two stages: The pre- and the final- selection. In the first stage, many professionals related to games are asked to participate and register their available hardware to test on.
Based on that, groups of five people have access to 10 games, where each jury member has to play 2 to 3 assigned games, but is able to play all the others of their group. Played games will get a little review in an online questionary, which is focusing on the four elements of innovation, subversion, progression and cultural impact.
After the play phase, the prejury has to shortly discuss their games in an online whiteboard with visible answers and screenshots of the games until April 16.
The five best games of each group will be ranked and the best game of each group will be presented to the jury in the final selection. Until April 25, our final jury consisting of Zuraida Buter (zo-ii / Global Game Jam), Chris Adkins (IGM), Thierry Platon (Bip Media) and Marek Plichta (Spaces Of Play) should have played and discussed all nominees. The award ceremony is on the evening of April 27, 2012.
